2021 is our 33rd year anniversary of the opening of our training center !
Congratulations to Pat & Randy
Our instructors are Randy Sutton,
Pat Sutton, Judy Richardson and Gwen Carr.
Their biographies are listed with photos of their dogs.
Randy has been training horses, cattle & dogs for over 50 years.
He says, Pat & I built & opened the Dog Training Center in 1988~~
Prior to that we had classes out back & moved into our 4 car garage during inclement weather.
Our initial goals have not changed. After literally hundreds of dogs a year
over 33 years we found that a small percentage of owners want more than a Basic Training Class.
We also specialize in Show Training for Obedience, Scent work & Rally Obedience
with many of our students competing in trials at all levels.
We offer a full venue of C-Wags Trials at our facility.
Randy is a Licensed C-Wags Judge for all levels of Obedience & Scent work &
he is a Licensed AKC Judge in Scent work & Farm Dog Venues.
He says these past 33 years have been fun & we look forward to many more.
Pat’s love of dogs & dog shows started at a young age as she tagged along with her Father,
an avid sportsman, to field trials all over the Tri-State Area.
She has been the Lead Instructor at the Training Center since it opened in 1988,
teaching Puppy Basic, Advanced Classes, Private Lessons & Show Competition.
She is a show ring veteran in the Obedience, Rally & Scent Venues with
numerous titles & awards to her credit over the years,
including the AKC Utility Title with her German shepherd Kelly.
She is a Charter Member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers &
The National Association Of Dog Obedience Instructors. She is also a member of The Potomac Valley
Standard Schnauzer Club & The Standard Schnauzer Club of America.
As Randy says, it’s been a fun ride &
we are looking forward to many more years of the same.
Gwen Carr has been involved with dogs since her 4-H days and
works as a dog groomer in Frederick, MD.
She teaches C-Wags, Scent and Rally as well as assisting during barn hunt practices.
Also, she is an approved judge in C-Wags for Rally, Scent,
Obedience and an Advocate for the venues.
Helping people and their dogs learn and enjoy new things is why Gwen teaches.
Her first performance dog was a rescue Labrador Retriever named Icarus
who started her on the dog sport journey.
Her current dogs are Payton and Hank both Border Collie/JRT mixes.
Both are competing in fly ball and scent work.
Payton also competes in rally, obedience, disc, agility,
dock diving, parkour, tricks and barn hunt.
She has over 100 titles to her name across her various venues
with multiple national competition appearances and placements.
Payton just received her ACE X 6 Patrol !
Coffee her Flat Coated Retriever attended the C-Wags National
where Coffee & Gwen won The Versatility Award !! Congratulations !
